Chloe & Simon's Stylish Manchester City Centre Wedding
I was so excited to photograph Chloe and Simon's wedding - there was something wonderfully uncomplicated about the day's plans. No elaborate schedule, no rushing from one side of the city to the other; just a relaxed day spent celebrating with the people they love, in some of Manchester's most iconic spots.
Their wedding began with an intimate ceremony at Manchester Registry Office before we headed out into the city for portraits around Central Library and St Peter's Square. Afterwards, everyone gathered for drinks at The Pevril of the Peak (which is such a gorgeous pub with the most beautiful green tiles), before ending the day with a laid-back reception at The Briton's Protection - another incredible pub!
It was stylish, personal and unapologetically them.
Breaking the Rules Beautifully
One of my favourite things about this wedding was how confidently Chloe and Simon embraced their own style.
Chloe looked incredible in a beautiful bridal suit that felt effortlessly modern, adding a leopard coat. It suited both her personality and the city backdrop perfectly.
Alongside her, Simon wore a sharp Jacquemus suit that brought just the right amount of contemporary tailoring without ever feeling flashy. Together they looked like they'd stepped out of an editorial!
It's always a reminder that the best wedding outfits aren't the ones that follow tradition; they're the ones that feel completely authentic to the people wearing them.
A Walk Through the City
One of the joys of a Manchester city centre wedding is that everything is within walking distance. Rather than disappearing for hours to another location, we simply wandered through the streets surrounding the registry office, making the most of the incredible architecture that's right on the doorstep.
Manchester Central Library is always a favourite of mine. Its grand stone columns and sweeping curves create an iconic backdrop, while the surrounding streets offer everything from historic buildings to modern reflections and quieter corners where couples can simply enjoy a few moments together.
Some of my favourite photographs from the day weren't planned at all; they happened while Chloe and Simon were chatting, laughing together and soaking in the fact that they had just got married. Those are always the moments that matter most!
Pints at The Pevril of the Peak
I love that Chloe and Simon chose The Pevril of the Peak for drinks after the ceremony, one of Manchester's most loved pubs.
There's something so fitting about celebrating a city wedding with a proper pub stop. Guests spilled out onto the pavement with drinks in hand, conversations flowed, and there was no pressure to stick to a rigid timeline. It gave everyone a chance to relax before the evening celebrations began.
These in-between moments often become some of my favourite parts of the day to photograph because people simply forget the camera is there.
Ending the Day at The Briton's Protection
The celebrations continued just around the corner at The Briton's Protection. Full of history and character, it was the perfect setting for an evening that reflected Chloe and Simon's approach to the whole day; warm and relaxed, focussing on spending time with family and friends.
A Wedding That Felt Like Manchester
What I loved most about Chloe and Simon's wedding is that it couldn't really have happened anywhere else. From the grandeur of the Central Library architecture to two of the city's most iconic pubs, every part of the day celebrated Manchester itself!
