A Joyful London Wedding at Clissold House & The Londesborough
Some weddings just feel relaxed from the very start and Lisa and George’s London wedding was one of those days. Relaxed, stylish and full of joy, it unfolded across two of my favourite kinds of venues: a beautiful historic house for the ceremony, followed by a North London pub reception that felt more like a brilliant dinner party with best friends than a traditional wedding.
From Clissold House to The Londesborough in Stoke Newington, the whole day was intimate, joyful and unapologetically them.
A Beautiful Wedding Ceremony at Clissold House
Clissold House is one of those London wedding venues that quietly steals your heart. Set within Clissold Park, it feels tucked away from the city without ever losing that unmistakable London energy.
Lisa and George’s ceremony was warm, emotional, and full of laughter - the kind where you can tell everyone in the room really knows the couple. Nothing felt rushed or overly formal. Just two people, surrounded by their favourite humans, starting their marriage in a space that felt elegant but easy.
From a photography point of view, Clissold House is a dream. Soft natural light, timeless architecture and enough character to elevate the images without ever overpowering the moment.
A Clissold House Wedding, Photographed Naturally
What I loved most about photographing Lisa and George here was how relaxed everything felt. There was no pressure to perform or pose - just gentle guidance, quiet moments and space to breathe.
The surrounding park gave us time for portraits that felt unforced and editorial, with that lovely mix of greenery and classic London backdrop. It’s the sort of venue that suits couples who want their wedding photos to feel natural, modern and timeless all at once.
A North London Pub Reception at The Londesborough
After the ceremony, everyone headed to The Londesborough in Stoke Newington — and honestly, this is where my London pub wedding obsession really kicks in.
The reception felt like the best version of a pub evening with friends: casual, intimate, and full of conversation and laughter. Just great food, drinks flowing and a room buzzing with warmth and laughter.
The Londesborough is such a perfect choice for couples who want a wedding that feels social and unfussy, but still beautifully considered. It suited Lisa and George down to the ground.
Why London Pub Weddings Will Always Be a Favourite
There’s something undeniably special about London pub weddings. They’re relaxed, intimate and full of real moments, the kind I always aim to preserve in my photographs.
Lisa and George’s wedding was proof that it's so important to have a wedding that feels true and authentic to you, that's the way to create something truly memorable. Thoughtful choices, beautiful spaces, great music and the people you love most in one room.
