Asylum Chapel in London: A unique and beautiful wedding venue
Asylum Chapel in Peckham, London, is an incredible wedding venue. It’s not just the gorgeous interior or the stunning architecture that makes it special, but the unique atmosphere it brings to every ceremony. If you’re searching for a venue that offers something a little different, Asylum Chapel is the perfect choice. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with rough stone walls and stunning stained glass windows that create an atmosphere like no other. The light streaming through those windows is absolutely breathtaking, making it a dream for capturing beautiful, natural wedding photography.
A beautiful, historic venue with a timeless charm
Asylum Chapel boasts a rich history and an unforgettable character that sets it apart from many other wedding venues in London. The chapel’s historic architecture, with its exposed stone and intricate stained glass, creates a beautiful juxtaposition of raw charm and elegance. The light filtering through the stained glass during the ceremony casts the most beautiful, soft glow, providing the perfect lighting for intimate moments. The venue is both grand and intimate, allowing for an atmosphere that feels personal and extraordinary at the same time. A ceremony at Asylum Chapel is always so atmospheric. What I love most about this venue is how it’s an eclectic mix of rustic charm and refined beauty, which allows it to fit perfectly with a variety of wedding styles.
Ben and Sophie’s stylish wedding at Asylum Chapel and Grind
I had the pleasure of photographing Ben and Sophie’s wedding at this stunning venue. They chose Asylum Chapel for their ceremony, which perfectly matched their stylish yet relaxed approach to their wedding day. The energy in the chapel was so warm and intimate, and the light coming through the stained glass windows made for such a magical atmosphere.
Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests headed to Grind on a London bus for a relaxed and beautiful reception. Grind, with its industrial charm and clean, minimalistic design, made a fantastic location for the reception. I love shooting at Grind because of the amount of natural light that floods in, and the industrial details create a unique backdrop for a celebration. The contrast between Asylum Chapel’s rustic elegance and Grind’s modern industrial vibe made this wedding feel like the perfect balance of chic and effortless.
Stunning wedding details
Every detail of Ben and Sophie’s wedding was so thoughtfully curated. The flowers were incredible - vibrant and full of texture, they added so much life and colour to the day. The mix of bold, modern blooms and delicate greenery complemented both the historic chapel and the sleek reception venue perfectly. As a photographer, I love capturing stylish details like these because they tell the story of the couple’s unique style and vision for their day.
Perfect for stylish weddings
Asylum Chapel and Grind are both versatile venues that can be tailored to a variety of wedding styles. Whether you’re looking for something more relaxed, a modern wedding with a vintage twist, or a classic ceremony followed by a sleek reception, these venues provide the perfect setting. They also create an unforgettable experience for both you and your guests, with each venue offering its own distinct feel.
