A London wedding full of style, soul and city charm

There’s something so timeless about a London wedding and Cara and Ali’s celebration was a perfect blend of elegance and modern romance. From a stunning church ceremony to a vibrant, joy-filled ceilidh dance in the evening, every part of their day was incredible.

The ceremony: a hidden gem in East London

The day began at St Paul’s Church, Bow Common, an architectural gem of a church nestled in East London. This Grade II* listed building is not your typical church; its breathtaking interior is spacious, light-filled, and quietly awe-inspiring. It's a church that I've wanted to visit for such a long time; I was so excited to finally photograph a wedding there! Cara and Ali exchanged vows beneath its soaring ceiling, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The ceremony was such a joy to be part of - so warm and genuine, with all the guests really going for it with the hymns!

Industrial chic by the Thames: Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding reception

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception at Trinity Buoy Wharf, a creative, riverside venue with panoramic views over the Thames. It’s one of London’s most unique wedding venues, with its industrial-chic vibe and iconic lighthouse offering an amazing backdrop. I love the view of The O2 across the water - iconic!

One of my favourite moments of the day came just before the party really got underway. As the vintage red buses pulled up outside Trinity Buoy Wharf, Cara and Ali were tucked away in the lighthouse having their portraits taken. From that quiet vantage point above the city, they could wave down at their arriving guests - it was such a joyful moment that started the wedding reception off perfectly!

Evening celebration: Ceilidh dancing and fun

As the sun dipped behind the London skyline, everyone shifted into full party mode. Guests were treated to a traditional ceilidh, which brought such an energy to the evening. There’s nothing quite like seeing wedding guests linking arms and spinning around, and for a lot of them it was the first time they'd danced like this! A ceilidh is such an amazing way to break the ice and make sure the dance floor is packed.

A London wedding full of heart

Cara and Ali’s day was a perfect example of how a wedding can honour tradition while feeling completely personal and contemporary. From the thoughtful details and the relaxed flow of the day, to that unforgettable view from the Trinity Buoy Wharf lighthouse, their wedding was truly a joy to photograph.
