Manchester is an amazing city for a micro wedding

Manchester is such an incredible city for an intimate wedding. It's impossible not to be drawn to its vibrant energy, historic charm and endless variety of venues; it’s a city that offers something special for couples planning an intimate celebration.

One of the things I love most about Manchester is its diverse architecture - you can find everything from grand, historic buildings to edgy, industrial spaces and modern, chic venues. It’s also packed with amazing spots for a relaxed reception after your small wedding ceremony. From cosy pubs to stylish restaurants, Manchester has something to suit every couple's style no matter what kind of wedding they're planning.

Millie and Adam’s relaxed micro wedding in Manchester

Millie and Adam’s wedding was such a joy to photograph. They got married on a sunny day in May, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Their ceremony was held at Elliot House on Deansgate, a stunning venue in the heart of Manchester that’s perfect for an intimate wedding.

After the ceremony, the whole wedding party strolled through Manchester city centre to their reception at Sadler’s Cat, a cool and relaxed bar that perfectly suited the chilled vibe of the day. Walking through the city together was one of my favourite parts of their wedding - it gave their guests a chance to enjoy the city and chat as they made their way to the reception.

The details of their day were so beautifully thought out. I especially loved the flowers Millie and Adam chose - gorgeous yellow blooms that perfectly captured the cheerful and relaxed spring wedding vibes.

Why micro weddings are so special

I always love photographing intimate weddings, and Millie and Adam’s day was a perfect example of why they’re so special. With a small guest list, every moment feels more personal and it's also the perfect way to create a relaxed wedding atmosphere where the focus is entirely on celebrating with your closest family and friends.

Having a small wedding in Manchester is such a great choice - I may be biased, but Manchester is definitely one of the best cities! The city’s unique mix of historic and modern venues, along with its welcoming atmosphere, makes it such an amazing location for an intimate wedding celebration.

A personal connection to the couple

It was such a joy to photograph Millie and Adam’s wedding, not just because of the gorgeous setting or the lovely details, but because I had actually met Millie a few years earlier. She works at a record store I often visit in Manchester, so seeing her get married and being part of such an important day in her life felt extra special. Moments like these are why I feel so lucky to do what I do!

Why choose Manchester for your micro wedding

If you’re considering a micro wedding in Manchester you'll be spoiled for choice with venues, especially reception venues. The city has so much to offer, from its stunning ceremony venues like Elliot House to unique reception spots like Sadler’s Cat. Plus, the mix of urban charm, vibrant culture, and welcoming atmosphere makes Manchester a perfect choice for a relaxed and intimate wedding.

Whether you’re planning a spring wedding like Millie and Adam or dreaming of a cosy winter celebration, Manchester is full of incredible locations to make your day incredible.
