Mayu & Jack’s Chic Islington Town Hall Wedding

I loved photographing Mayu and Jack’s wedding at Islington Town Hall. It was such a stylish, relaxed day, with a really lovely group of people.

Mayu looked incredible in her dress - modern, simple and very chic. I loved the whole look, particularly against the grand interiors of Islington Town Hall.

A London Town Hall Wedding

There’s something I really like about town hall weddings in London. You get these beautiful, historic spaces, but the day itself can still feel intimate and personal.

Mayu and Jack’s ceremony at Islington Town Hall was followed by plenty of time to photograph them with their friends and family, as well as some portraits around the building. I wanted to keep everything relaxed and natural, while making the most of the architecture and Mayu’s amazing dress.

Mayu’s Wedding Dress

Mayu’s dress was one of my favourite things about the day. It was so understated and elegant, and felt completely right for her.

I love photographing couples who have really thought about what they want to wear without making it feel overly “wedding”. Mayu’s look had such a fashion-forward feel to it, and I think it worked perfectly with the setting.

Pork Pies and Pints

After the ceremony, everyone headed to a pub round the corner for pork pies, pints and lots of time to hang out together! It felt like such a good way to finish the day. The Pocket is such a beautiful pub, there were some gorgeous spots for photos.

I always love photographing weddings like this; super chill and relaxed! They got married at Islington Town Hall, got some great photographs, and then went to the pub with their favourite people - perfect!

Islington Town Hall Wedding Photography

For me, this is what makes photographing a wedding like this so enjoyable. There are the obvious things to photograph; the ceremony, the dress, the architecture and portraits, but then there are all the bits in between. The conversations, the drinks, people catching up, the walk to the pub, someone eating a pork pie. Those are the things that bring the photographs to life afterwards.

My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive, with a little direction when it’s useful. I want the photographs to feel considered and editorial, but still like a genuine record of the day. Mayu and Jack’s Islington Town Hall wedding was a particularly good example of that balance: beautiful details, a beautiful setting and a really relaxed afternoon afterwards; exactly my kind of London wedding!
